April 11, 2008

I’m back! After the craziness of ATA, we finally found a flight back on Tuesday on American Airlines… but if you saw the news, American cancelled their flights that exact day! So I actually was stuck in LA (ahhh!) and got home late that night on a United flight. This trip was an adventure! Hopefully none of you will have traveling problems next week!

It was a short week for me, but I’m glad I finally made it home. Thank you for supporting Mrs. Seema and offering to help her. This week, we also had another teacher aide join our class for one-and-a-half hours everyday. Her name is Mrs. Subha and she will be in our classroom on an alternating schedule with Mrs. Seema.

I received many compliments about the amount of parent volunteers who helped during our traffic duty last week. Thank you again!

Future Dates

* Monday, April 14th – Friday, April 18th: NO SCHOOL
Enjoy your spring break!

* Friday, May 2nd: First Grade Music Performance – 2:00pm @ MP Room
There is a paper in today’s Friday Folder about the first grade musical. We will be singing songs from the theme, Sesame Street. Your child is required to bring a solid colored T-shirt and jeans (in a bag labeled with your child’s name) the week after we return from spring break. Hope you can attend!

Have a wonderful spring break! Enjoy the sun and have a great time!

THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered their time this week to do the Suisun traffic duty! Every week, a different class is responsible for keeping kids safe in the parking lot. Our class had many parents help out. Thanks for helping Eaton!

Jump rope for health! We are participating in this fundraiser for the American Heart Association. All of Eaton School will be jump roping together to raise money. If you have donations, please turn them in!

April book orders are attached to this newsletter. If you are interested, please return the order with ONE check payable to Scholastic Book Clubs. Please return them by Friday, April 11th and we should be able to get the books by the end of April.

Future Dates

* Thursday, April 10th: Cupertino Library Field Trip
Remember to bring your blue library cards on this day. We will be walking to the library in the afternoon. Please memorize your 4-digit PIN number!

* Monday, April 14th – Friday, April 18th: NO SCHOOL
Enjoy your spring break!

I hope everyone had a good week! My dance group was invited to perform at a 3-day conference in Hawaii, so that’s why I have been absent. We are lucky to have Mrs. Seema substitute for our class because she already knows all the kids! See you on Monday!
